Reminder to Spring Forward
Daylight Saving Time Begins Sunday

Daylight Saving Time Begins Sunday
This is your friendly reminder from the San Diego County Public Law Library that it's daylight saving time again.

Don't forget to move your clocks ahead one (1) hour at 2:00am on Sunday, March 8th.

The California Energy Commission's website states that, "[o]ne of the biggest reasons we change our clocks to Daylight Saving Time (DST) is that it reportedly saves electricity. In general, energy use and the demand for electricity for lighting our homes is directly connected to when we go to bed and when we get up."

"Daylight Saving Time...is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and by most of Arizona (with the exception of the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona)."

"Indiana, which used to be split with a portion of the state observing DST and the other half not, is now whole."

"According to Mining Co. Guide to Geography, DST is also observed in about 70 countries."
